Hazel Clifford

Hazel Clif­ford is an actor and writer from Dublin.

She is cur­rently play­ing the role of Oswald in King Lear (dir. Rox­ana Sil­bert) at The Gate Theatre.

Recent stage work includes the Tin­der­box pro­duc­tion of Yerma (dir. Patrick J. O’Reilly) at The Lyric, Belfast; Wait­ing for the Offo (dir. Conan McIvor) at The New The­atre, and Bak­ing You Every­thing (dir. Jim Cul­leton) at Draíocht.

A grad­u­ate of The Lir Acad­emy (2018), Hazel’s ear­lier cred­its include The Snap­per (Gate The­atre), The Play­boy of the West­ern World (The Lyric /​Gai­ety The­atre), Walls & Win­dows (Abbey The­atre), You’re Still Here (Dublin Cas­tle), Kinder Egg Spir­its (Smock Alley The­atre), Our Lit­tle World (ANU Pro­duc­tions), and Next Please (Bewley’s Café Theatre).

She was nom­i­nated for an Irish Times The­atre Award for Best Actress in 2018, and for Best Young Tal­ent at the Renais­sance Film Fes­ti­val in 2019.
