Janet Moran is an actor and playwright based in Dublin. She is currently appearing as Karen in the ITV/Britbox/RTÉ series The Dry Seasons 1 and 2, directed by Paddy Breathnach. She received the Irish Times Best Actress Award for Heaven (Fishamble, The New Play Company) which played in New York, London, Edinburgh as well as an Irish Tour.

Her play Quake won the award for Best Theatre script at the Writers Guild of Ireland Awards. Her play Afterwards recently played at the Peacock Theatre. Looking for América which she co-wrote is currently in development with Oh Brother Films and Screen Ireland.
She is the current DLR Playwright in Residence.
