Niamh Murphy

Niamh is a 2024 grad­u­ate of The Lir Acad­emy, orig­i­nally from County Wexford.

She most recently appeared as Regan in King Lear at The dlr Mill The­atre, Dublin.

Her the­atre cred­its dur­ing train­ing include: My Sis­ter in This House (Dir. Joy Nes­bitt), The Nest (Dir. Friederike Karpf), The Illu­sion (Dir. Ronan Phe­lan), Absolute Hell (Dir. Davey Kelle­her), and The Visit (Dir. Oon­agh Mur­phy).

Niamh is also an emerg­ing writer and has par­tic­i­pated in devel­op­ment pro­grammes such as ARTic­u­late (YTI), You, Fin and the Play Between (Babóro, TYA, Graf­fiti), and Axis Assemble.

In 2021, Niamh pre­sented her first play, Cash Point Meet, at Edin­burgh Fringe Online.

She was selected for Kino Guarimba Film Res­i­dency in 2019 and 2021, where she col­lab­o­ra­tively made short films in South­ern Italy. Ear­lier this year, her short film script was a final­ist in Comór­tas — Físín, an Irish lan­guage pitch­ing com­pe­ti­tion in Din­gle.

Niamh is an accom­plished singer, hav­ing trained in Musi­cal The­atre, Clas­si­cal, and Tra­di­tional styles. In 2021 she was a recip­i­ent of an Arts Coun­cil Agility Award to con­tinue her vocal train­ing with Deirdre Mas­ter­son and RIAM.
