Paudie Baggott

Paudie Bag­gott is an award-​winning film direc­tor based between Dublin and Limerick.

He is a grad­u­ate of the National Film School at IADT (BA Hons in Film & Tele­vi­sion Pro­duc­tion and Direction).

To date, Paudie has directed sev­eral com­edy shorts all of which have screened or won at sev­eral global Oscar and Bafta-​affiliated film fes­ti­vals includ­ing Gal­way Film Fleadh, Aes­thet­ica, Bolton Film Fes­ti­val, Water­ford Film Fes­ti­val, Emerg­ing Director’s Awards and The Chicago Inter­na­tional Children’s Film Festival.

His shorts have been funded by Kil­dare Co-​Co, The Pitch Film Fund in the UK, and he most recently com­pleted the Screen Ireland-​funded Focus Short Peat – a darkly comic fan­tasy he wrote and directed. It pre­miered at Gal­way Film Fleadh, in 2024 and almost burned down Town Hall Theatre.

As a direc­tor, he devel­ops both exist­ing and self-​written projects.

Post-​college Paudie joined the film indus­try as a Standby Art Direc­tor on sev­eral fea­ture films and TV shows.

Con­cur­rently he attended the Actor’s Stu­dio in The Fac­tory (later Bow Street Acad­emy) work­ing along­side actors, devel­op­ing the skills and lan­guage needed to build bet­ter collaboration.

His pre­vi­ous short film, The Innkeeper, a sweet comedy-​drama told from a child’s point-​of-​view and star­ring a cast of 8-year-old’s, is cur­rently on the fes­ti­val cir­cuit and has received sev­eral awards and great feed­back from audiences.
